Turkey has begun production of the next generation of Altug combat armored vehicles, alongside manufacturing the future generation of the Altay tank.

According to Defence Turk, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan stated that the company would produce eight Altay tanks and ten Altug 8×8 armored vehicles per month.

The statement was made during the inauguration of the new BMC armored vehicle factory in Ankara, the Turkish capital. During the ceremony, it was not specified which version of the Altug would be produced first.

Currently, BMC is promoting three versions: the Altug 8×8 IFV, with a 35 mm remote-controlled cannon turret; the Altug 8×8 APC, with lighter armor and a larger troop compartment; and the Altug 8×8 Fire Support, a version with a 105 mm cannon designed for fire support or anti-tank operations.

However, it is worth noting that the IFV variant was displayed alongside the Altay tank during the official presentation. Therefore, the first production batches of this specific modification are expected to be prioritized.
